A little about me & my art journey...

Hi, I’m Kelly, a mixed media artist who likes cats, colors, and lucky charms. I created kelico studio (like "calico"), to pursue my dream of making art a bigger part of my life and livelihood. My work is inspired by my Asian heritage (think lucky symbols and nostalgic characters), cute cats (especially my cat, Tobi), and the media that brings me comfort (I've rewatched avatar: the last airbender 7 times, and counting). I create with my fellow creators, collectors, and cat lovers in mind, and I hope that my work brings a little more color and comfort to your day!

Art has always been my way of connecting with the worlds and characters I love. It keeps me curious, creative, and challenged. But somewhere along the way, I took a very long detour to focus on more "practical" pursuits. In 2020, I started drawing again, mainly because I wanted to draw my comfort characters from Fire Emblem 3 Houses. I’m still in a field for something very not-art-related, but I realized I wanted creativity to take up way more room in my life than just doodles in the margins. So I decided to finally go for it and build a space for my art. I still don't create as much as I would like to, but I'm working on listening to my heart, which always keeps wandering back to art.
